When Awakening Lands started interviewing regenerative leaders and weavers, those people who are deeply dedicated to caring for their place and modeling for others how to do the same, we saw that their stories and visions of a brighter future could bring a lot of clarity and inspiration. Somehow bringing their stories together could offer examples for how we relate to each other and to land, and invaluable direction as we learn as a species how to evolve towards an ecological paradigm.
Then we began focusing on a single region, Erie Niagara. After interviewing several local leaders, a larger picture of interwoven narratives was beginning to form. So we thought, what if we were more strategic about uncovering the stories that want to be told, and were able to tell a lot more of them, in a variety of forms of media? What if locals were able to curate, design, and share the stories themselves? What would we learn about how to give a place a voice?
In this video, Anna shares some of our upcoming plans. This is also us learning how to build in public…
If you’d like to support Anna and Benji in this work, every bit goes a long ways. We’re still far from being fully funded. The next goal is to bring in enough money to get Benji to Buffalo to co-facilitate these workshops on the ground with Anna.
We also have dreams of bringing resources to regenerative storytellers, artists, workshop facilitators, media producers, weavers, leaders, and more. We so badly want to build Awakening Lands into a richly dynamic ecosystem of learning and inspiration sharing. Please, help us to form a flow of energy towards the kinds of things we all want to see more of.
Many thanks to Kula Applied Research Institute for helping us to unlock funding sources and providing wisdom, collaboration, and friendship.
